A Free Review Game for the Classroom: How to Play Zip, Zop, Zap

When we first started Zooming, figuring out how to lead class meetings that were fun was my top priority. At that time, I didn’t realize how much teachers everywhere would be looking for solutions for the same thing. As online and hybrid teaching models took over the school year, being equipped with as many games, activities, and ideas for keeping Zoom (or Google Meet) meetings engaging has become an absolute necessity. Before long, this free review game was born! I love that you can use it with any skill or subject! Here’s how to play Zip Zop Zap!

What is Zip, Zop, Zap?

Zip, Zop, Zap is a game I created to have some fun while practicing any skill or strategy. At the end of the school year, I paired it with a bunch of random review questions for math and ELA. Some teachers use it with math questions. You could use spelling words or comprehension questions after a story. Or–you could just use it for fun with no questions attached! It would make for a great morning meeting or Fun Friday activity.
